~What We Did During Our Magical Hour~
We read, “Snowman Magic” by Katherine Tegen. We played “Snowman Says”; everyone had a chance to dress as the snowman and pick cards to tell our friends what to do. We used our IMAGINATIONS to touch our carrot nose or clap our mittens.
Brrrrrrr we warmed our hands by the stuffed campfire and each child picked a hibernating animal to pretend to be in the forest. We woke them up just to learn about them and back to sleep they went for the rest of the winter.
We listened to a story about Martin Luther King Jr. by Margaret McNamara. and sang a song about his message of PEACE to the familiar tune Row, Row, Row Your Boat.
It was time for some more SNOW fun! We chose different pictures from Mr. Snowman and said their initial sounds. Each learning opportunity was a chance to earn a snowball and throw it in the SNOW igloo! We had fun practicing the sounds S, N, O, & W make with an indoor snowball fight!
We swapped a craft for a science experiment this month! Everyone had a magic snowball appear in our hands! Although there was no snow outside it was snowing inside the recreation center today!
